- The old blue tin shed on the corner of Woodfield Rd recreation field is to be demolished on safety grounds. The shed has a long history, it was used as an auxillary fire station the the war [dated 28/09 2007]

- County Observer and Monmouthshire Central Advertiser Abergavenny and Raglan Herald Usk and Pontypool Messenger and Chepstow Argus 15/11/1902: "The Fire Brigade Committee recommended that the New Inn Fire-station should be fitted with the necessary apparatus for the drying of the hose" [cannot confirm it relates to this station - may be earlier one]
